The gadgets and gizmos out of this year’s recent CES show mostly revolved around VR, IoT, and the expected annual showing of yet another smart fridge.
However as tools get smarter, who is to say they won’t start misbehaving? I’m not suggesting a Matrix paradigm where we all end up unconscious in baths of pink nutrient goo. I’m thinking more along the lines of your allegedly smart refrigerator ordering grapefruit juice when you run out of orange juice. That would certainly make me sour.
The future is coming, smarter tools and all—and we can’t stop it. It doesn’t hurt to stop and question what exactly we are going to do with the future as it comes.
